Fighting Evil One Criminal and Terrorist At A Time

It all started so innocently. I follow a variety of views on Twitter. Each person brings their point of view based on their own understanding of events. However, just as everyone is entitled to their own opinion, they’re not entitled to their own facts. When the facts are presented, and views are rebutted with facts, it changes the tenor of the conversation.

I responded to a tweet from Leslie Marshall – a liberal talk show host (The Leslie Marshall Show). You can see the tone from her, because of my dissenting view, ranged from sarcastic to condescending because I dared to dispute the accepted narrative that a religion is incapable of causing attacks – it’s just those pesky radicals…unless it’s Christianity. Then we hear about Joe Stack (flew the plane into the IRS building). The link is from the Huffington Post, so if there were any Christian overtones, they’d be all over it like lawyers on an oil spill. No ideology present.

Next it was Timothy McVeigh. After 15 years, McVeigh is still trumpeted as the poster boy of homegrown terrorism. Let’s stipulate McVeigh was a terrorist – the worst kind. He attacked his own people, killed innocent women and children indiscriminately – 15 years ago. McVeigh was not a Christian, nor following Christian ideology. He committed his terrorist act specifically because of Waco and the actions of Janet Reno and Bill Clinton. He read and believed in The Turner Diaries:

Premise: The diaries of Earl Turner, member of an underground white supremacist army, provide an inside account of an Aryan revolution that overturns the United States government in the near future.

In the email that follows the Tweets, I lay out my experience with OKC and the help I gave the FBI in the following days as a Detective in Kansas. So, neither Stack nor McVeigh used religion as a reason, excuse, cause, motivation or provocation.

When I responded to Leslie’s original tweet “What is it that’s producing more homegrown terrorists?” and added ” How about Islam?”, she assumed I was referring to all Muslims. She didn’t listen and didn’t understand the differentiation. I said Islam (the ideology), not Muslims (the person). The threat comes from ideology and the groups created to spread this ideology (CAIR, ISNA, MPAC, MSA, Hamas, etc.).

How is it that Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism and Judaism do not require the modifier of ‘moderate’ placed before their name? Why is it the only religion (actually theo-political system) that requires this is Islam? Why is it necessary to differentiate by applying the label ‘moderate’? When’s the last time the media referred to Catholics as ‘moderate’ Catholics? Moderate Methodists? Moderate Presbyterians? Moderate Hindus? Moderate Jews?

Each organization was researched to see if it was Muslim or not, which included primary sources (State Department) and secondary sources (Terrorist Designation Lists – http://www.state.gov/s/ct/list/index.htm).

I might be off a current group or two – I did the original back in November before it was updated in January. I spent 18 years in law enforcement, and 6 years in justice/intelligence community (private sector), as well as instruct for the US State Department Antiterrorism Assistance Program. In addition, I worked with the FBI when I was a detective and followed up leads on OKC and McVeigh. He and Nichols constructed the bomb 5 miles from where I used to live, and rented the truck one mile from where my mother lived. She worked at Fort Riley in Garrison Commander’s office, and processed their paperwork.

McVeigh has had to shoulder the ‘Christian’ guilt for over 15 years, even though he was not Christian in any sense, and did not commit any acts in the name of God. He was influenced by the Turner Diaries, and the actions of the government at Waco. OKC happened 2 years to the day of the Branch Davidian compound raid. I am quite familiar with McVeigh and what he did.

As to your other comment about history, I assume you were referring to the Crusades? If not, please correct me. If so, it was 450 years of unchecked Muslim aggression since 632 AD, and the invasion of Jerusalem in 1075 that triggered the first Crusade in 1095 by Pope Urban II. Charles ‘The Hammer’ Martel fought and defeated the Muslims in 712 at The Battle of Tours. The invading Muslims were defeated at The Gates of Vienna on September 11, 1683 (yes – 9/11). The rise of the Muslim Brotherhood can be traced directly to the elimination of the Ottoman Empire and The Grand Caliphate by Kamal Attaturk. History is replete with more examples, including Christian barbarity.

But what Christian countries today call for the destruction of any other country? How many Christian charities have been investigated and shut down for supporting terrorism? Where is the Golden Rule for Islam? How do you get to Heaven in Christianity? How do you get to Paradise in Islam? Read Son of Hamas (www.sonofhamas.com) for some excellent insight. Great read.

But to your point – what is causing it today? I simply responded Islam. I didn’t say Muslims. I’m focused on the ideology, not the individual person. I have nothing personal against your view or you. I don’t mind being challenged on my assertions – I’ll gladly back them up with facts. But your use of ‘honey’ and ‘luv’ do come across as arrogant and condescending – although personally I’m not offended I’m a big boy – I just want stimulating debate. Twitter limits that.
