Border Patrol Agents Held At Gunpoint

by Morgan Wright on September 13, 2008

Officers fear Mexican military encounters will turn violent.

“A U.S. Border Patrol agent was held at gunpoint Sunday night by members of the Mexican military who had crossed the border into Arizona, but the soldiers returned to Mexico without incident when backup agents responded to assist.”

First, there is no way in this day of GPS that an army the size of the Mexican Army ‘innocently’ crosses into sovereign territory. If they had been in fresh pursuit of drug dealers or human traffickers, I’d buy that.

It is well known narcotrafficantes have infiltrated the Mexican army, including several local police forces. I truly feel the frustration of the government of Mexico as they try to eliminate corruption. In fact, in Tijuana, citizens are being told to call the Army, not the police.

As Fred Thompson said in The Hunt for Red October: “This business will get out of hand… it will get out of hand and we will be lucky to live though it.” Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
